Qualifications

• 7+ years in external or corporate communications or media relations.
• Proven relationships with reporters covering technology, life sciences, startups, venture capital, finance and banking.
• Strong understanding of commercial banking and startup ecosystem.
• Excellent writing and editing; ability to simplify complex topics.
• Experience advising senior executives on media strategy.
• Experience managing proactive media campaigns and crisis/reputation handling.
• Ability to work with senior leaders in a matrix organization.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Experience with media monitoring tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute external communications strategies for Commercial Banking; build relationships with key reporters.
• Advise senior executives on media engagement, positioning and external visibility; lead proactive campaigns.
• Manage reactive inquiries and sensitive issues with clear counsel.
• Identify opportunities for executive interviews, conferences and speaking engagements.
• Prepare executives for media appearances with messaging and training.
• Coordinate logistics for interviews and background conversations.
• Ensure compliance in approvals and disclosures for public appearances.
• Support social media amplification after events.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders for aligned communications.
• Monitor media coverage and industry trends to identify risks and insights.
• Measure outcomes and report media impact to inform strategy.
