Responsibilities

Lead the Infrastructure & Platform Engineering org across Cloud, SRE, CI/CD & SDLC, and Application Support.

Develop Directors and future leaders; drive headcount planning, hiring, retention.
Provide technical leadership on architecture, system design, reliability, and observability.
Shape platform strategy, address technical debt, evaluate new technologies.
Own 99.95% uptime across AWS, GCP, and Azure environments; define SLOs and incident response.
Lead application support and manage tier-2/tier-3 escalations; drive improvements from issues.
Oversee acquisition integrations; partner on due diligence and risk assessment.
Champion AI-powered developer tooling across engineering; track productivity metrics.
Define multi-year platform roadmap and governance across teams; report to the C-suite.

Job description

Lead the Infrastructure & Platform Engineering organization across Cloud, SRE, CI/CD & SDLC, and Application Support
Lead four Directors and approximately 50 engineers
Build a high-ownership, self-managing organization with minimal escalation
Develop Directors and future leaders; drive headcount planning, hiring, retention, and advancement
Provide technical leadership on architecture, system design, engineering quality, infrastructure, observability, CI/CD, reliability, and operational excellence
Influence platform strategy and architectural direction; address technical debt and evaluate emerging technologies
Own the 99.95% uptime SLA across AWS, GCP, and Azure production environments
Define and enforce SLOs, error budgets, incident response, on-call, runbook, and postmortem practices
Lead and scale Application Support and own tier-2/tier-3 technical escalations
Translate customer issue trends and root causes into prioritized engineering improvements
Serve as executive escalation point for high-severity customer issues
Lead technical integration of infrastructure and platform assets from acquisitions
Own the acquisition integration playbook covering cloud tenancy, CI/CD onboarding, monitoring, support handoff, and application support coverage
Assess acquisition infrastructure risk and provide VP-level input to technical due diligence
Champion AI-powered developer tooling and partner on rollout across engineering
Define and track engineering productivity metrics
Own the multi-year platform and infrastructure roadmap
Drive standardization and centralization of infrastructure management
Communicate platform health, risk, and roadmap to the C-suite
Represent Engineering in product planning, security reviews, finance, and customer escalations

Requirements

10+ years in engineering leadership
At least 3–5 years at VP level
Leadership experience in a large-scale, global SaaS organization supporting mission-critical products
Experience operating platforms serving a global customer base
Expertise designing and managing highly available, resilient, geographically distributed infrastructure
Experience leading SRE, Platform, or Infrastructure organizations at scale (40+ engineers)
Technical depth in architecture, system design, and operational trade-offs
Experience owning or closely partnering with technical support or application support
Familiarity with multi-cloud environments and modern infrastructure patterns, including IaC, GitOps, containers, and observability
Track record owning and meeting high-availability SLAs in production SaaS
Experience integrating acquired infrastructure assets
Strong executive communication skills
Demonstrated ability to develop leaders
Strongly preferred: hands-on experience deploying AI/ML tooling for developer productivity at scale
Strongly preferred: background in product-led, fast-paced SaaS organizations
Strongly preferred: familiarity with centralized platform governance in a multi-team environment
Strongly preferred: experience contributing to M&A technical due diligence
