Job summary

The Nuclear Company in New York is seeking a Vice President of Engineering to lead the engineering organization responsible for the successful development and execution of a fleet of nuclear power plants. This is a senior leadership role for an experienced nuclear professional with broad exposure to design, construction, commissioning, operations, major projects, and asset management.

You will lead an owner’s engineering team, and drive a disciplined, repeatable delivery model from early design

Qualifications

  • 20+ years of engineering and leadership experience in the nuclear power industry, major power generation, or similarly complex regulated infrastructure.
  • Significant experience with commercial nuclear power plants and/or nuclear new-build projects.
  • Demonstrated leadership across multiple phases of the nuclear lifecycle: engineering, construction, commissioning, operations, major projects, and asset management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Engineering Organization: build and develop a high-performing, multidisciplinary nuclear team.
  • Own Engineering Execution: set plans, priorities, schedules, deliverables, and metrics for the full project lifecycle.
  • Build for Constructability and Operability: integrate construction sequencing, supply chain realities, and operation considerations into design decisions.
  • Manage Engineering Partners and Suppliers: oversee interfaces with reactor vendors, architect-engineers, EPCs, utilities, and suppliers.
  • Create a Repeatable Fleet Model: develop processes that support a fleet-build strategy and standardization.
