Job summary

The Nuclear Company in Washington, DC, seeks a Senior Vice President of Operations to build and lead the fleet-level operating organization for our first nuclear projects. You will shape safety culture, staffing, and procedures for the full life cycle of plants, from fuel load to end of life.

You will own external operational readiness services and partner engagements, ensuring regulatory compliance and world-class performance while guiding strategic development of the operating fleet.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in nuclear plant operations.
  • NRC-licensed Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) or equivalent operating authority.
  • Experience building or significantly restructuring a nuclear operating organization.
  • INPO evaluation experience at senior leadership level.
  • Commercial judgment to engage external partners on operational readiness services.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build TNC’s nuclear operating organization from the ground up, including structure, staffing, qualifications, and training.
  • Establish nuclear safety culture from the first hire and drive operating procedures.
  • Develop staffing plans for lead project and define timelines for licensed and non-licensed staff.
  • Coordinate with Regulatory Affairs, Quality & Training on programs and qualifications.
  • Establish and validate operating procedures before fuel load.
  • Own fuel load readiness assessment and NRC pre-operational coordination.
  • Lead initial startup through criticality and power ascension to commercial operation.
  • Own fleet-wide operating performance, outages, and license maintenance.
  • Engage with INPO and WANO as senior operations representative.
  • Develop operating performance metrics and report to executive leadership.
  • Develop and deliver external operational readiness services for partners and utilities.
