Job summary

AmTrust Financial Services Inc. in the United States seeks a Vice President, Underwriting E&S to lead environmental casualty underwriting and manage a high-performing team.

This role reports to the SVP & Head of Casualty Brokerage and collaborates with claims, risk management, finance, and actuarial to align underwriting with strategic goals. This senior leader role requires 15+ years in commercial P&C with environmental casualty specialization and a proven record in building strategic wholesale

Qualifications

• 15+ years of commercial lines P&C experience with Environmental Casualty underwriting.
• Advanced risk assessment skills with product specialization.
• Proven ability to cultivate and manage strategic wholesale distribution partnerships.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to independently prioritize tasks and meet strict deadlines.
• Proven leadership in developing and guiding high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee underwriting team within environmental casualty and lead excess space to meet financial goals.
• Monitor evolving market conditions to inform strategic underwriting decisions.
• Direct broker development and manage marketing plans, fostering profitable relationships.
• Participate in product development and reinsurance placement for the line.
• Continuously evaluate market dynamics for competitive underwriting practices.
• Champion innovation and continuous improvement of underwriting processes and systems.
