Job summary

Vitalant seeks a strategic Vice President, Development to lead a national philanthropy program across annual, monthly, employee, major and planned giving. The role reports to the Foundation President and builds strong donor partnerships to advance lifesaving missions.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in fundraising leadership, exceptional communication, and a passion for healthcare and community service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Sales, Business or related field.
• Ten years of management of development functions.
• Foundational understanding of best practices and ethical fundraising.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute a national fundraising strategy that drives growth across annual giving, monthly giving, employee giving, major gifts, and planned giving programs.
• Cultivate, solicit, and steward individual donors, corporate partners, and philanthropic supporters while building a strong pipeline of prospective donors and transformational gifts.
• Partner with Foundation leadership, executive teams, regional leaders, and board members to identify opportunities and advance organizational fundraising priorities.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to development team members, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and philanthropic excellence.
• Strengthen donor engagement and stewardship efforts through personalized relationship strategies, compelling mission-based storytelling, and data-driven fundraising practices.
