Job summary

MissionHires is seeking a VP Data Centers for a power systems engineering organization to lead and scale a Data Center Engineering and Compliance practice, combining interconnection and power systems expertise with business development and regulatory acumen.

You will build senior client relationships with hyperscalers, utilities, EPC firms, and regulators, drive proposals, and mentor a high-performing team while traveling 25-35% to support project delivery and strategic growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor?s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Master?s degree in Power Systems preferred.
• 10-15+ years of power systems engineering experience.
• Experience supporting data centers, hyperscalers, or large-load interconnection projects.
• Deep knowledge of NERC reliability standards and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex interconnection studies and analyses across ISO/RTO programs.
• Oversee large-load dynamic and EMT modeling for hyperscale centers.
• Direct NERC/FERC compliance activities and regulatory requirements.
• Develop technical solutions across generation, transmission, and distribution.
• Establish standards, peer reviews, and high-quality deliverables.
• Build commercial strategy including pricing, partnerships, and growth.
• Maintain senior relationships with hyperscalers, utilities, EPC firms, regulators.
• Lead proposal development and secure high-value engagements.
• Represent the organization at industry events and working groups.
• Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of engineers.
• Establish hiring plans, delivery processes, and capacity planning.
• Partner with executives on strategic planning and practice growth.
