Job summary

JLL is seeking a VP, Cost Manager for data center programs, focusing on strategic cost planning, detailed estimating, and value engineering across feasibility to commissioning. You will lead cost certainty for mission-critical facilities, manage long-lead equipment, and provide expert guidance to clients investing hundreds of millions in data center infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, quantity surveying, architecture, or related field
• 12+ years of cost management/estimating experience with data center focus
• Expert knowledge of data center construction costs incl. electrical/mechanical systems and building envelope
• Experience managing costs for large-scale projects $100M+ with complex MEPs
• Familiarity with Uptime Institute, TIA-942, ASHRAE standards and cost implications
• Proficiency with cost estimating tools and financial reporting

Responsibilities

• Develop cost estimates from design through construction documentation
• Prepare feasibility studies, cost models, and budgets for hyperscale facilities
• Lead cost optimization and value engineering while maintaining uptime standards
• Establish cost management frameworks, track budgets, and monitor overruns
• Provide market insights and procurement guidance for multi-year campuses
• Present cost reports to clients and project leadership
• Mentor cost managers, estimators, and analysts
