Job summary

SMBC is seeking a Senior Critical Facilities Manager to lead the North America facilities team, overseeing operation, maintenance and security of data centers and IT/LAN rooms. You will drive uptime, safety, and cost-effective improvements while coordinating with engineering, IT and security across multiple business units.

The role requires 15+ years in Real Estate/Facilities with 5+ years in a senior capacity, strong leadership, and deep knowledge of mission-critical systems.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of Real Estate/Facilities experience, with at least the last 5+ years in a senior role managing critical facilities.
• Proven leader who can build, develop and lead a team of professionals.
• Deep understanding of mission critical equipment and operations.
• Strong client focus and responsiveness to business needs.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and executive-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee North America critical facilities operations, maintenance, and compliance for uptime and safety.
• Manage vendor contracts and supplier relationships; lead cost-effective improvements.
• Coordinate with engineering, IT, security, and other teams to address operational challenges.
• Direct capital programs, project delivery, and day-to-day facility activities.
• Provide SME guidance on major initiatives and ensure proper governance of contractors.
