Job summary

Oliver James Group seeks a Vice President to lead end-to-end strategic transactions for a founder-led asset manager across private equity, private credit, and insurance strategies. You will source, structure, value, diligence, and execute deals with a focus on GP stakes and platform transactions.

You will develop theses for growth, present to senior leadership, and own modeling and valuation for asset managers and financial services. Leadership and cross-team collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of relevant experience with demonstrated transaction leadership.
• Experience in GP stakes / GP strategic capital, FIG or asset management M&A.
• Experience in financial-services private equity or corporate development/strategy within an asset manager.
• Strong asset manager and financial services economics, advanced modeling and valuation skills.
• Entrepreneurial, ownership-driven mindset; insurance and reinsurance exposure a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end strategic transactions, including sourcing, structuring, valuation, diligence, and execution.
• Evaluate and execute GP stakes, asset manager acquisitions, strategic partnerships and platform transactions.
• Develop investment and strategic theses for organic and inorganic growth and present to leadership.
• Own financial modeling and valuation for asset managers and financial services businesses.
• Manage advisors, diligence work streams across the transaction lifecycle; mentor junior team members.
