Job summary

SARES-REGIS GROUP is seeking an experienced VP, Corporate Controller to lead corporate and project accounting across our national platform. This executive will drive GAAP reporting, internal controls, and audits while guiding multi‑entity financial operations for residential, development, and property management segments.

The role partners with executives to optimize financial performance, implement process improvements, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or relevant experience.
• CPA designation preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years’ accounting experience in a multi-discipline real estate company.
• Experience with audits and multi-entity accounting environments.
• Experience in real estate development, construction accounting, or property management.
• Keen attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting and tax compliance.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Aim for compliance with financial reporting requirements, debt covenants, and regulatory obligations.
• Oversee annual financial statement audits and coordinate with external auditors.
• Partner with executive leadership to provide financial analyses, forecasts, and strategic recommendations.
• Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance accounting efficiency and reporting capabilities.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning activities.
• Oversee accounting for multifamily residential, mixed-use, and land development projects.
• Track project costs, manage WIP, and review lien waivers and lender reporting.
• Monitor project profitability and ROI metrics.
