Job summary

SRG Residential seeks an experienced VP Corporate Controller to lead accounting operations across corporate, development, and property management activity. This role partners with executives to ensure GAAP-compliant financial reporting, strong internal controls, and strategic financial insights.

Based in Indianapolis with optional collaboration across Newport Beach, CA and Phoenix, AZ offices, the position emphasizes process improvement, audits, and multi-entity accounting leadership.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of accounting experience in a multi-discipline real estate company.
• CPA designation preferred.
• Experience managing audits and multi-entity accounting environments.
• Strong attention to detail and written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting and tax compliance.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements under U.S. GAAP.
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes with timeliness and accuracy.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with tax requirements, debt covenants, and regulatory obligations.
• Coordinate annual audits with external auditors.
• Partner with leadership to provide financial analyses, forecasts, and strategic recommendations.
• Drive process improvements and automation to enhance accounting efficiency.
• Support budgeting and long-range financial planning activities.
• Oversee project accounting for development and construction initiatives.
