Job summary

Synchrony Financial seeks a VP, CoreTech Governance Leader to drive safety and soundness across CoreTech. You will lead exams, manage risk, and strengthen the control framework while guiding a governance and risk team across the organization. Collaboration across all three lines of defense is essential.

You will be responsible for coordinating audits, policy creation, and issues remediation. This front-line role requires hands-on involvement in exam details and senior leadership engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of Technology or Risk Management, or 12+ years in Technology and Agile Portfolio Management without a degree.
• Governance and/or risk management experience.
• Strong people leadership skills.
• Experience partnering across a large, multi-layered organization with senior leaders.
• Excellent presentation and communication with senior executives.

Responsibilities

• Lead OCC and FRB exams, Internal Audits, 2LOD exams, Pen tests.
• Explain technical challenges to non-technical leaders to prioritize business risks.
• Challenge evaluations of true business risk.
• Collaborate with Information Security on risk management.
• Drive issues remediation and risk identification across CoreTech.
• Create and communicate dashboards on status and productivity.
