Job summary

Synchrony Financial is seeking a VP, CoreTech Governance Leader to drive safety and soundness across the CoreTech organization, ensuring readiness for internal and external exams and strengthening risk and control frameworks.

You will lead governance and risk activities, coordinate exams and audits, drive risk remediation, and manage the CoreTech governance team in a matrixed environment across all lines of defense. Strong communication with senior leaders is essential.

Qualifications

• Governance and/or risk management experience required.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to influence across a matrixed organization.
• Clear presentation and communication skills with senior executives.
• Proven track record partnering across large organizations with multiple priorities.
• Experience with PCI, FFIEC or similar regulatory controls is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the risk and governance activities for the CoreTech organization.
• Coordinate exams and audits (OCC/FRB, 2LOD, pen tests) and drive remediation.
• Explain technical risk to non-technical leaders to prioritize actions.
• Liaise with Information Security on risk management and issues remediation.
• Own the Audit Readiness program and facilitate creation/renewal of policies and procedures.
• Act as Product Owner for CoreTech Governance board and drive PI Planning.
