Saul Centers, Inc. seeks a Vice President, Controller to lead the accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with US GAAP. The role guides staff, supports management and tenants, and oversees monthly to annual disclosures and footnotes.

The candidate will drive process improvements, manage cash flow forecasting, and remain current on evolving accounting standards while maintaining strong internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required.
• CPA certification is required.
• 10 to 15 years of relevant accounting experience.
• 5 years of public accounting experience.
• 5 years of managerial experience.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage, mentor, train and develop the accounting staff.
• Provide accounting support to management and billing support for tenants.
• Analyze monthly property operating statements and explain variances with management.
• Ensure monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports comply with US GAAP.
• Review monthly cash flow forecasts for management reporting.
• Improve processes and efficiency through automation and better procedures.
• Stay current on changes in US GAAP and assess impact on the company.
• Review accounts receivable and assess the provision for doubtful accounts.
