Job summary

Genesee & Wyoming Railroad Services, Inc. (GRSI) is seeking a Vice President, Controller reporting to the CFO to lead all consolidated accounting, financial statements, and external reporting for the Jacksonville operations.

The role owns the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance platform, oversees SOX, GAAP/IFRS compliance, and drives process improvement in close and reporting while mentoring a team of accounting professionals.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and IFRS.
• Experience owning or governing an enterprise ERP finance platform; Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance preferred.
• Excellent analytical and written/verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of AI-assisted reconciliation and close acceleration is a plus.
• Ability to establish governance and internal controls over AI outputs for audit readiness.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly close, consolidation, and internal reporting.
• Lead external reporting, audits, and IFRS disclosures.
• Own Dynamics 365 Finance governance including chart of accounts and period close controls.
• Approve changes to accounting configurations and controls.
• Develop accounting policies and SOX compliance.
• Guide AI integration governance and control frameworks.
• Mentor and develop accounting team; set performance objectives.
