Job summary

Genesee & Wyoming Inc. is seeking a Vice President, Controller to lead all consolidated accounting functions and financial reporting.

You will own the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance platform, manage chart of accounts, and ensure integrity of financial data while partnering with the CFO and external auditors. You will supervise a team, drive SOX compliance, and support strategic initiatives, requiring a BS in Accounting, CPA, 10+ years in accounting with 5+ years in management; MBA or Big Four

Qualifications

Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and IFRS.
Experience governing an enterprise ERP finance platform; Dynamics 365 Finance preferred.
Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
Awareness of AI in accounting, including AI-assisted reconciliation and close acceleration.
Ability to establish governance and internal controls over AI outputs for audit readiness.
Self-motivated with ability to drive change and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

Oversee monthly close, consolidation, and internal reporting.
Ensure IFRS/GAAP reporting and external financial statements.
Own Dynamics 365 Finance platform, including chart of accounts and configurations.
Approve changes to accounting configuration and controls.
Develop corporate accounting policies and SOX-compliant procedures.
Maintain internal controls and governance over AI-enabled outputs.
Lead and develop accounting team for high performance.
