Job summary

JCW Group is seeking a lead analyst for a U.S. consumer ABS team with strong visibility across the market.

You will own end-to-end transactions, take positions in the rating committee, and help shape the firm’s published views on consumer credit across auto, cards, personal loans, student loans, solar, and specialty finance. You will lead analysis and rating of new consumer ABS transactions, from collateral and structure through to committee and publication, presenting to the committee as lead

Qualifications

• 7+ years in RMBS/ABS with direct exposure to consumer asset classes (auto, cards, personal/student loans).
• Experience at a bank, investment firm, rating agency, or issuer (structuring, investing, surveillance, or ratings).
• Hands-on cash flow modeling, credit risk analysis, or ratings experience; Intex or similar tools a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead analysis and rating of new consumer ABS transactions from collateral and structure to committee and publication.
• Present and defend rating recommendations to committee as lead analyst.
• Engage with issuers, bankers, investors, servicers, and counsel; represent the firm externally.
• Author presale and rating reports and sector research; contribute to methodology; mentor junior analysts.

Our client is a top global rating agency who are expanding rapidly across the US, specifically within structured finance.

This is a chance to step into a lead analyst seat on a U.S. consumer ABS team with real market visibility. You'll own transactions end-to-end, take positions in rating committee, and help shape the firm's published views on consumer credit across auto, cards, personal loans, student loans, solar, and specialty finance.

The Role

You'll lead the analysis and rating of new consumer ABS transactions, from collateral and structure through to committee and publication.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead new-issue consumer ABS ratings, covering collateral, structure, credit enhancement, legal frameworks, operational reviews, and cash flow analysis
• Present and defend rating recommendations to committee as lead analyst
• Engage directly with issuers, bankers, investors, servicers, and counsel, and represent the firm externally
• Author presale and rating reports and sector research, contribute to methodology, and mentor junior analysts

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years in RMBS or ABS with direct exposure to consumer asset classes (auto, cards, unsecured/personal loans, student loans, POS, marketplace lending, or similar)
• Background at a bank, investment firm, rating agency, or issuer, whether in structuring, investing, surveillance, or ratings
• Hands-on cash flow modeling, credit risk analysis, or ratings experience (Intex or similar tools a plus)
• Strong command of structured finance, including transaction structures, credit enhancement, and stress testing, with the confidence to defend an independent credit view
