Job summary

PURE Insurance seeks a Vice President, Compliance Operations to lead critical operational compliance functions, including surplus lines tax, licensing, and financial crimes. The role reports to the SVP, Chief Compliance Officer and drives regulatory alignment and internal controls across the business.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in insurance compliance within a P&C carrier.
• Deep expertise in surplus lines tax, multi-state filings, licensing, and/or financial crimes.
• Experience leading operational compliance teams with high-volume regulatory processes.
• Strong knowledge of state insurance regulations and regulatory filing requirements.
• Proven ability to translate regulatory requirements into scalable, controlled processes.
• Bachelor’s degree; certifications (CPCU, CCEP, AML) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead operational execution of key compliance programs including surplus lines tax, licensing, and financial crimes.
• Align programs with the Compliance Risk Framework and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and controls for operational compliance.
• Implement risk-based monitoring, QA, and testing protocols.
• Establish KPIs and KRIs to measure regulatory adherence.
• Support regulatory examinations and inquiries.
• Provide advisory support to underwriting, distribution, and finance.
• Build and lead high-performing teams; plan resourcing and succession.
• Collaborate with Legal, ERM, Internal Audit and leadership to ensure alignment.
