Job summary

Merrick Bank, a leading non-prime lender and card issuer, seeks a Vice President of Compliance Support & Governance. You will drive enterprise-wide compliance strategy, standardize processes, and lead regulatory testing, reporting, and risk mitigation.

The role requires deep banking regulatory knowledge, strong leadership, and the ability to partner across lines of business to ensure policy adherence and continuous improvement. Hybrid/remote options are available based on business needs.

• Ability to design and implement scalable compliance frameworks, including second-line privacy oversight.
• Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving skills.

• High level of professional judgment, integrity, and accountability.
• Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with compliance management platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead governance, execution, and ongoing improvement of the enterprise compliance framework across business lines.
• Develop and maintain the enterprise Privacy framework for second-line oversight.
• Own policy development, lifecycle management, and coordination of policy reviews.
• Provide strategic oversight of risk assessments, testing, issues, and remediation.
• Deliver compliance reporting for senior leadership, committees, the Board, and regulators.
• Manage centralized compliance calendars and monitor milestones.
• Lead governance of findings, validation, escalation, and data integrity in Archer.
• Oversee enterprise complaint management with regulators and internal stakeholders.
• Analyze compliance metrics to inform leadership decisions and risk posture.
• Design standardized templates, tools, and methodologies for assessments and reporting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent interpretation of requirements.
• Drive operational excellence by optimizing workflows and reducing redundancies.
• Oversee training strategy and ongoing staff development.
• Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
