Job summary

Mapfre seeks a strategic, results-driven VP to shape the Commercial Lines underwriting and product development portfolio in the United States. You will lead underwriting strategy, pricing collaboration with Actuarial, and regulatory execution while driving product innovation and portfolio profitability.

You will oversee multiple lines of business, set governance for filings, and partner with Operations, Digital, and Distribution to improve workflows and customer experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• 12+ years of Commercial Lines underwriting, product development, or related insurance experience.
• Proven leadership experience at the Director, AVP, or VP level.
• Deep expertise in Commercial Lines products, underwriting, pricing, portfolio management, and regulatory filing processes.
• Strong understanding of profitability management, risk assessment, and underwriting governance.
• Demonstrated success partnering with Actuarial and cross-functional business leaders to drive strategic outcomes and profitable growth.
• Exceptional communication, executive presence, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead underwriting strategy and portfolio performance across the Commercial Lines business.
• Drive end-to-end product lifecycle, design, implementation, and optimization of competitive products.
• Advance regulatory filing strategy and ensure alignment with pricing objectives and governance.
• Build and mentor a high-performing underwriting and product development team.
• Partner with senior leaders across Actuarial, Claims, Finance, Operations, Marketing, and Digital to align strategy and execution.
