Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a Vice President, Head of Collateral & Margin Management to build and lead the broker-dealer's collateral operations. This leader will oversee control, execution, and strategic development of margin processes, partnering with Trading, Treasury, Risk, Legal, Compliance, and Technology.

You will establish team, controls, and future-state platform, drive efficiency and regulatory readiness, and mentor staff while delivering scalable, well-controlled operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of relevant capital markets operations experience, including significant experience in collateral management, margin operations, repo/securities financing, or related functions.

Responsibilities

• Establish and lead the Collateral & Margin Management team, with operating model, staffing, controls, service levels, metrics, and escalation governance.
• Oversee daily margin and collateral activity, including calls, movements, settlements, and reconciliations.
• Manage collateral disputes and breaks with timely investigation and remediation.
• Provide operational oversight of collateral supporting repo and other financing arrangements.
• Partner with Trading and Treasury/Funding to improve collateral utilization and liquidity.
• Establish controls over haircuts, eligibility rules, concentration, and counterparty exposures.
• Lead requirements for future-state margin and collateral platform, including workflow, data, UAT, conversion.
• Develop management information and KRIs covering margin calls, disputes, aging, collateral balances, settlement fails.
