Job summary

WSP USA seeks a Vice President, Civil Engineering Project Manager to lead and grow the Civil Engineering Transportation team for Southern California projects. The role supports PSR/PA/ED and PS&E delivery and may be based in any of WSP's California offices.

Responsibilities include leading roadway project delivery, contract negotiations, staff mentorship, business development in California, and ensuring QA/QC across project teams, with occasional travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Professional Engineer license (California preferred).
• 12+ years of relevant post-education experience in civil engineering and infrastructure design.
• Ability to lead and grow the civil engineering business.
• Experience as a project manager, deputy project manager, construction management or task lead.
• Ability to guide mid- to senior-level staff with QA/QC discipline.
• Strong understanding of the project delivery process in A/E/C and project management.
• Advanced analytical and organizational skills with business acumen.
• Strong problem-solving, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of roadway and civil transportation projects for local agencies in Southern California.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to Civil Engineering Transportation staff.
• Drive business development, client engagement and pursuit of new projects in California.
• Lead contract negotiations and oversee project financial performance.
• Ensure quality deliverables, QA/QC, and risk management across projects.
• Represent the firm at client and industry events and maintain client relationships.
• Collaborate with local offices and national transportation delivery experts.
