Job summary

Clearbrook is seeking a VP, Ceded Reinsurance to lead end-to-end outward treaty placements across all P&C lines. You will structure complex programs, manage global broker and reinsurer relationships, and safeguard capital and balance sheet through robust risk transfer strategies.

You will supervise placement cycles, prepare external market submissions, and coordinate across underwriting, claims, actuarial, and finance to align objectives with strategic priorities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in Reinsurance (broking, underwriting, or buying/ceded).
• Deep understanding of insurance, reinsurance, and actuarial principles as they relate to contract structuring and pricing.
• Exceptional negotiation and communication skills; ability to influence senior executives and global stakeholders.
• High attention to detail with ability to manage complex, quantitative tasks under tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in collaborating with exposure management, capital modeling, and finance teams.
• Willingness to travel globally and work outside standard office hours to meet market demands.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end annual treaty placements from initial structure proposals to final negotiation and execution.
• Direct preparation of external submissions for the global reinsurance market.
• Coordinate with underwriting, claims, actuarial, capital modeling, exposure management, finance, and group legal for cohesive placement objectives.
