Job summary

Clearbrook is seeking a Senior Vice President, Group Head of Ceded Reinsurance to lead the global ceded reinsurance function and drive the enterprise strategy for risk transfer, capital management, and counterparty oversight. The role partners with underwriting, actuarial, finance and risk management to optimize capital and earnings volatility while ensuring regulatory compliance across jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• Fifteen-plus years of progressive insurance and reinsurance experience.
• Significant experience in ceded reinsurance purchasing, treaty structuring, facultative placements, and capital management.
• Experience interacting with executive leadership, Boards, regulators, rating agencies, and external stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of property & casualty insurance, treaty and facultative reinsurance, alternative capital structures, regulatory frameworks, solvency and capital management, reinsurance accounting and financial reporting, SOX and governance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute enterprise ceded reinsurance strategy aligned with corporate objectives, risk appetite, and capital management goals.
• Establish long-term reinsurance purchasing strategies across all business segments, geographies, and lines of business.
• Advise executive leadership on catastrophe protection, earnings stabilization, and balance sheet protection.
• Lead governance and oversight of placement activities, renewal strategies, and contract certainty.
• Provide executive counsel to Boards and committees on market developments and counterparty risk.
