Job summary

Howden is seeking a Vice President, Broker to lead casualty placements for large national accounts, bridging analytics and client advisory work. You will collaborate with producers, account executives, and juniors, shaping renewal strategies and new business opportunities.

This role suits professionals with 3–5 years of experience, seeking ownership of client deliverables, market negotiations, and cross-functional collaboration within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in commercial insurance brokerage, underwriting, finance, consulting, or a related analytical field.
• Growing expertise in Casualty lines.
• Ability to analyze client exposures and support the design of tailored insurance solutions.
• Strong understanding of Casualty market dynamics, carrier appetite, and coverage structures.
• Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and data-driven tools; ability to produce polished, client-ready materials.
• Active commercial insurance license.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across broker, underwriting, and client service teams.
• Team-first mindset with a willingness to mentor junior colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Handle casualty placements and servicing for large national accounts.
• Review client exposures, loss history, and industry risks to help structure tailored insurance solutions.
• Prepare market submissions, ensuring coverage requests are complete and reflective of client needs.
• Liaise with underwriters to collect terms, negotiate, and support placement execution.
• Analyze carrier quotes and provide side-by-side comparisons of coverage and pricing.
• Participate in renewal strategy meetings and develop client-facing presentations and benchmarking analyses.
• Manage the binding process to reflect negotiated terms and conditions.
• Review policies for accuracy and coordinate corrections with carriers.
• Support casualty transactions with program reviews and market insights.
• Develop tailored insurance structures including loss-sensitive and guaranteed-cost programs.
