Job summary

Howden is seeking an Associate Broker to support senior brokers in placement and servicing Casualty insurance programs from our Chicago hybrid office. This role offers analytical, marketing, and execution support across renewals and new business, forming a foundation for a long-term career in commercial insurance brokerage and advisory leadership.

You will prepare client proposals and coverage comparisons, liaise with underwriters, run benchmarking and loss analyses, and collaborate across teams

Qualifications

• 0–3 years in insurance, finance, consulting, analytics, or related field.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with data-driven approach.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; client-ready materials.
• Willingness to obtain appropriate insurance licensing.

Responsibilities

• Support senior brokers in structuring and placing Casualty programs.
• Create client-facing materials and coverage comparisons.
• Liaise with underwriters to collect terms and negotiate coverage.
• Run benchmarking and data-driven analyses for renewals.
• Collaborate with brokers and account executives on proposals.
• Prepare renewal strategy documents with analytics.
• Ensure exceptional client service and deal execution.
• Maintain submission trackers and data records.
