Responsibilities

  • Lead the Bank Operations team with emphasis on accuracy, compliance, and customer service.
  • Oversee daily operations: deposits, electronic banking, wire processing, ACH/check processing, Reg CC/Reg E, OFAC, fraud monitoring, escheatment, IOLTA records.
  • Administer Jack Henry core system and integrations; manage user access and vendor relationships.
  • Coordinate legal processing (subpoenas, garnishments, tax levies) in compliance with laws.
  • Develop and update procedures for new accounts, cash limits, teller processing, and wires.
  • Monitor KPIs and risk metrics; report to executives and auditors.

Idaho First Bank is seeking a strategic, hands‑on Bank Operations Director to lead and enhance the effectiveness, compliance, and efficiency of our operational functions. This senior‑level role is responsible for overseeing all back‑office operations, ensuring exceptional service delivery, regulatory compliance, risk management, and continuous process improvement. The role manages a team that includes Bank Operations Specialists and other operations personnel.

Essential Functions
  • Lead the Bank Operations team, ensuring high levels of accuracy, compliance, and customer service.
  • Oversee daily bank operations including deposit operations, electronic banking, wire processing, ACH and check processing, Reg CC holds, Reg E disputes, OFAC screening, fraud monitoring, dormant accounts and escheatment, IOLTA accounts and records management.
  • Administer and optimize the Bank’s core system (Jack Henry) and ancillary services, ensuring effective integration with operational processes, timely system updates, and strong vendor relationships. Administer user access including user onboarding, maintaining appropriate system access, and removing access upon separation or role changes.
  • Oversee legal processing activities, including timely and accurate handling of subpoenas, garnishments, tax levies, and other legal orders in compliance with applicable laws.
  • Coordinate team members to validate account verification review process, ensuring timely resolution and appropriate documentation of reviews for account ownership, and authorized signers. Oversee and audit the operations certification process for both branches and back‑office operations, ensuring that all locations meet established standards for regulatory compliance, procedural consistency, and internal control effectiveness.
  • Develop, maintain and regularly update procedures, including new accounts, cash limits, teller transaction processing, wire processing and other operational activities,
  • Develop, implement and maintain operational policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and operational best practices.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators and risk metrics, and address any issues that impact operational effectiveness, compliance, or cost efficiency.
  • Serve as a liaison with auditors, regulators, and internal departments on operational matters.
  • Assist branch staff with Operations procedures and policy questions. Ensuring the branches follow current banking regulations.
  • Drive operational excellence by championing technology solutions and process improvement initiatives.
  • Manage and review ACH processing activities with third‑party vendor partners to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing team with clear goals and accountability.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of federal and state regulations related to banking operations including UCC, BSA/AML, Reg CC, Reg E, NACHA rules, and OFAC requirements.
  • Support strategic planning efforts by aligning operational initiatives with broader organizational goals.

  • Proficiency with banking core systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • AAP certification is preferred.
