Job summary

HSBC in New York City seeks a Vice President, Portfolio Manager, Asset Backed Lending, to provide portfolio oversight and collaborate with Relationship Managers across the U.S. and globally to address client needs while maintaining sound risk controls.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or accounting and experience in asset-based lending or credit training, with strong analytical and communication skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting or related field.
• Experience in asset-based lending or credit training preferred but not required.
• Experience managing a portfolio of asset-reliant transactions with varying complexity.
• Strong planning, communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work well in a team and build relationships with clients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with ABL Team, Relationship Managers and portfolio companies to analyze new lending opportunities and manage existing loans.
• Provide oversight for all aspects of managing a portfolio of asset-reliant and ABL facilities.
• Conduct due diligence, collateral and financial analysis, modeling, and legal diligence; identify risks and mitigants; prepare credit memos.
• Prepare presentations and recommendations for internal approvals.
