Job summary

Morgan Stanley is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to expand AI initiatives in the Research Technology team. You will build scalable, resilient search and distribution systems while collaborating with NY stakeholders, delivering measurable platform improvements, and mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Broad knowledge of AI/GenAI, LLM integration and data workflows.
• Experience with modern cloud and devops tooling.
• Strong programming skills in Java and Python.
• Hands-on experience with Elasticsearch or MongoDB and Postgres.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, GitOps and observability stacks.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with product leads and highlight improvement opportunities.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers.
• Adapt to evolving requirements from BU stakeholders.
• Design data pipelines for research content distribution.
• Drive PoCs for scalable AI-integrated solutions.
• Develop solutions involving LLMs, RAG, agent orchestration, and tool integration.
• Adopt emerging technologies while balancing risk and security.
• Promote AI SDLC and cloud governance across teams.
