Job summary

State Street is seeking a Vice President for AI Security and Data Protection Governance and Controls in Stamford, CT, reporting to the Managing Director of Data Protection. The role drives the enterprise governance framework, policies, and standards for secure AI and data protection across platforms and third-party services.

You will collaborate with Security, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Procurement, and business units to embed security-by-design and resilient controls, guiding risk

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, CS, Engineering, Math, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years in cybersecurity, AI security, data protection, security architecture, risk, or governance.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain enterprise governance framework for AI security and data protection.
• Govern discovery, inventory, classification, and risk assessment of AI models and data assets.
• Define risk-based prioritization criteria using data sensitivity, retention, and business criticality.
• Design minimum control requirements, testing procedures, and remediation expectations across tech stacks.
• Lead transition of vulnerable security implementations to approved secure technologies and controls.
• Partner with Security Architecture to embed AI security and data protection into design and standards.
• Define due-diligence criteria for third-party products and cloud services.
• Serve as SME for AI security governance in engagements with leadership, risk, compliance, and regulators.
• Establish dashboards and KPIs for risk exposure, compliance, and remediation progress.
• Lead a team responsible for governance, control oversight, and cross-functional execution.
