Job summary

New York Life is seeking a Director of AI Search to lead the cross-functional strategy for AI-driven discovery, AI-mediated demand, and optimized content in large language model environments.

This role partners with Brand, Content Strategy, Marketing, Analytics, and Technology to define frameworks, measure AI search impact, and drive responsible, human-centered AI experiences across product lines and audiences.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in digital strategy, product strategy, content strategy, or marketing strategy with cross-functional programs.
• 5+ years working with AI, ML in a strategy, product, or consulting capacity.
• Experience in financial services or insurance regulatory environment preferred.
• Direct experience with AI search, AEO, or generative search optimization is strongly preferred.
• Hands-on AI concept development and experimentation with design and tech partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional strategy and program for AI search, GAO, and AI-mediated discoverability across major AI platforms.
• Define and maintain strategic frameworks for content, knowledge assets, and brand voice in AI contexts.
• Collaborate with Content Strategy, Brand, Experience Design, VOC, Performance Marketing, AI Product Management, and Technology.
• Develop AI-driven acquisition strategies leveraging AI search and AI-enabled channels across product lines.
• Map and optimize AI-influenced acquisition journeys with teams to identify AI touchpoints and entry points for prospects.
• Establish measurement frameworks for AI search presence and attribution across AI-mediated touchpoints.
• Maintain competitive intelligence on AI search representations across platforms.
• Lead future-state visioning for AI-first discovery and marketing experiences.
