Job summary

Optum is seeking a visionary VP of Product, AI & Product Office to lead enterprise AI-enabled product strategy and the Agenix portfolio. You will define problems with care teams, build via AI tools, and drive measurable enterprise value across markets.

You will embed with local market teams, shape smallest viable products, and own the roadmap while coordinating with cross-functional partners to ensure secure, governance-ready delivery.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of product management experience shipping software for operational, clinical or frontline users.
• 10+ years in healthcare industry within a large, matrixed organization.
• 10+ years of demonstrated business acumen: builds a business case, defines metrics, writes SQL or equivalent.
• Executive-level experience shipping an AI feature to production and measuring impact.
• Experience using AI tools in your work.
• Formally built with AI tools: an agent, automation or large language model tool you designed, built and ran.
• Able to work at enterprise level and at a single market level; tell which decision belongs where.
• Has shipped products with engineering teams inside and beyond their own team.
• Exceptional communication skills; solid writing of decisions, findings, and disagreements.
• Proficient with GitHub and AI coding tools alongside analytics/presentation tools.

Responsibilities

• Embed with local market teams to understand care delivery and write problem statements.
• Define the smallest product version, success measures, and business case before build.
• Partner with care team members as design partners from the first conversation.
• Determine which problems belong to a market vs enterprise and shape products accordingly.
• Own the roadmap and backlog; document decisions and rationale.
• Run as one team with weekly cycle times and avoid handoffs.
• Collaborate with Optum Health engineering; set direction and evaluation criteria.
• Build prototypes and analyze AI coding and agent tools.
• Partner with finance, data, security, legal, privacy, governance for enterprise-ready products.
• Own product decision rights across the portfolio with evidence.
