Job summary

Happen Bank in San Francisco seeks a VP of Platform Engineering to lead AI Infrastructure, DevOps, testing, DBA, and observability. You will define a multi-year strategy and partner with product teams to deliver scalable, secure platforms that empower engineering velocity while preserving quality and safety.

The role requires 13+ years in senior engineering leadership and a track record across AI infrastructure, governance, and shared services. Hybrid SF office with relocation support.

Qualifications

• 13+ years of progressive software engineering, DevOps, platform engineering, or related technology experience.
• Bachelor's degree or higher, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 10+ years in a senior engineering leadership role leading multiple technical domains.
• Experience setting AI Infrastructure strategy and governance, with client-facing capabilities.
• Fluent with modern distributed tech: Java/Scala/Node.js, databases, and messaging systems.

Responsibilities

• Own enterprise AI Infrastructure strategy, roadmap, and platform selection.
• Define CI/CD, tooling, IaC, and deployment standards to improve velocity and reliability.
• Lead Change Management, testing, governance, and observability across teams.
• Oversee incident management and production resilience practices.
• Build and mentor a high-performing Platform Engineering leadership team.
