Job summary

Happen Bank in San Francisco seeks a VP of Platform Engineering to lead AI Infrastructure, DevOps, testing, DBA and observability. You will set multi-year strategy, build governance, and partner with product to accelerate delivery while maintaining reliability and security.

You will coach leaders, shape platform services across Java/Scala/Node.js stacks, Postgres/MySQL/Cassandra/DynamoDB, and Kafka/SQS/SNS.

Qualifications

• 13+ years of progressive software engineering, DevOps, platform engineering, or related technology experience.
• 10+ years in a senior engineering leadership role leading multiple technical domains.
• Experience setting AI Infrastructure strategy and building client-facing AI capabilities.
• Strong hands-on knowledge across DevOps, testing, API design, databases and observability.

Responsibilities

• Define the platform strategy and multi-year roadmap for Platform Engineering.
• Lead AI Infrastructure, DevOps, Testing, DBA, and Observability functions.
• Partner with product and technology leadership to balance speed, quality and safety.
• Coach and develop leaders across multiple engineering disciplines.
