Chief Customer Officer New, distinct org — peer to (not a replacement for) the existing core Solutions organization, which continues to own non-AI GRC solutioning and also reports to the CCO

Key Responsibilities

MetricStream is evolving from a GRC system of record into a system of intelligence, decisions and actions and an AI-native Governance Operating System — one that orchestrates first-party, second-party, and third-party agents across risk, compliance, cyber, audit, and resilience workflows.

That shift changes what "customer success" means. It's no longer enough to create good products and configure them well; today we need to solve a customer's GRC problems, prove the outcome, and then advise upon and engineer the next thing they didn't know to ask for.

That's this role. The VP of Customer Outcomes & Forward Engineering sits at the intersection of GRC domain expertise, applied AI, and consultative delivery — turning customer ambiguity into shipped outcomes with speed and clarity. In addition, providing input into repeatable product and services patterns.

This is a hybrid builder-operator role: Your organization runs an AI/agentic-outcomes solutioning practice; with support from a strong high speed R&D flavored forward deployment capability that lives close to the frontier of what our AI agents/use cases can actually do for customers, before and after they are productized.

A note on scope.

MetricStream's existing Solutions organization — the team responsible for core, non-AI GRC solutioning (the bread-and-butter configuration, implementation, and delivery work that runs the business today) — is a separate group that also reports to the Chief Customer Officer. This role is deliberately scoped apart from that org: it owns AI-native and agentic customer outcomes specifically, not core solutioning broadly. The two organizations will coordinate very closely as peers under the CCO, and there is an intentional possibility of merging them into a single solutioning org under this leader once the AI-native practice matures — but for now, this leader is building a distinct capability, not absorbing or replacing the existing one.

Where you will focus

• Lead the team responsible for translating customer risk, compliance, and audit problems into AI-native MetricStream solution designs — before, during, and after the sale, where agentic capability is core to the outcome
• Own the "problem-first" discovery methodology for AI-native engagements: no configuration conversations until the GRC problem is genuinely understood
• Partner with (not duplicate) the core Solutions organization on accounts where both non-AI and AI-native solutioning are in play, with clear handoff points so customers experience one coherent team
• Mentor others in the core Solutions organization – as directed by the CCO – to practice the “art” of AI-native solutioning
• Support Sales during presales cycles on strategic and complex deals — bringing GRC transformation thinking into the room, not just product demos
• Work closely with the Customer Success team– also under the direction supervision of the CCO – to design and deliver AI driven solutions to existing customer problems
• Lead or co-lead GRC transformation discussions with existing and prospective clients, helping them see a future-state operating model before they've bought anything
• Own "inspiration" moments in the sales cycle — vision sessions, art-of-the-possible workshops, and points of view that differentiate MetricStream from a features conversation
• Drive prototype success: rapid, credible proofs-of-concept and working prototypes that demonstrate agentic outcomes on a prospect's real data or real problem, built to convert belief into a signed deal
• Be accountable for time-to-value and AI outcome realization on flagship and strategic accounts
• Build repeatable solution patterns (by industry, by regulation, by use case) that reduce reinvention and shorten deployment cycles
• Direct a compartmentalized high performing forward-deployed engineering capability that partners with customer solutioning teams on the hard, non-standard problems — agent orchestration, data integration, and workflows that don't fit the packaged product yet
• Use these engagements as a feedback loop into product and platform roadmaps; forward engineering should generate the next generation of first-party agents and platform capability, not just one-off customer fixes
• Maintain the judgment to know when something belongs in a customer-specific build versus when it should be pulled back into core product

Cross-functional & Strategic

• Partner with Product, Sales, Customer Success and GSI/partner teams to define where 1st-party, 2nd-party, and 3rd-party agents each make sense for a given customer
• Represent the voice of "what actually gets deployed" in product strategy conversations — a check against roadmap features that sound good but don't solve real GRC problems
• Build the muscle for handling ambiguity: this org will regularly be asked to solve problems that don't have a template yet
• Report into the Chief Customer Officer alongside peers leading Services, Support, and Customer Success, and collaborate closely with them on a unified post-sales customer journey

Skills and Experience

• GRC solutioning depth. You've sat across the table from risk, compliance, audit, or resilience leaders and translated their problems into deployable solutions. You know the difference between a feature request and a governance outcome.
• Real AI and data fluency. Not a vocabulary — working understanding of how agentic systems, data models, and integrations actually behave in production, deep enough to have a technical opinion and to earn credibility with engineers.
• Consultative DNA. You default to diagnosis before prescription. You're comfortable asking "why" three more times than feels natural before proposing an answer.
• Presales credibility. You can hold your own in front of a CCO, CISO or Chief Risk Officer in a vision workshop, and you know the difference between a demo that dazzles and a prototype that actually earns trust in a deal.
• Comfort with unmapped territory. This role will regularly operate without a playbook. You build the playbook as you go, and you're energized rather than anxious about that.
• Leadership range. You can run a scaled solutioning organization with process and rigor, while also personally engaging on the messiest, highest-stakes forward-engineering problems.
• Track record leading through influence. The dotted-line forward engineering relationship requires earning alignment without full authority — you'll need credibility with engineering leadership, not just org-chart position.
• 10+ years in GRC, enterprise SaaS solutioning, professional services, or a related consultative/technical leadership path, with meaningful exposure to AI/ML-driven products, solutioning and servuxes
