Job summary

Peregrine is seeking an experienced VP of FP&A in San Francisco to build the financial engine for the next growth phase. This role chairs the multi-year model, annual operating plan, and advanced forecasting, guiding leadership with data-driven insights.

You will lead a high-performance FP&A team, partner with the CFO and other leaders, and drive strategic finance initiatives in a fast-scaling tech environment while working on-site in San Francisco four days per week.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive finance experience in banking, private equity, or consulting, followed by FP&A leadership at a high-growth tech company.
• Ownership of company-wide annual planning cycles with cross-functional alignment.
• Strong financial modeling and data fluency; comfortable pulling data and working with SQL.
• Fluency in complex revenue models, including subscription, consumption, and professional services.
• AI-native mindset with examples of eliminating recurring manual work.
• Excellent executive communication for CEO and Board discussions.
• Proven ability to recruit, manage, and develop quantitative talent and build a high-performance team.
• Experience with government contracting or regulated environments is a plus.
• Experience supporting international expansion is a plus.
• Willing to work in our San Francisco office 4x/week.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve Peregrine's multi-year model, translating strategic goals into a driver-based financial roadmap for leadership decisions.
• Design and lead the company-wide annual operating plan with department heads for driver-based budgets and headcount plans.
• Establish a monthly budget versus actual cadence, diagnose variance drivers, and work with leaders on mitigation options.
• Build the forecasting methodology for a multi-segment GTM approach across public-sector and commercial lines.
• Develop a view on unit economics across product lines and segments, including margins, infrastructure, CAC, payback, and net retention.
• Create financial cases for major bets, including international expansion and new product lines.
• Own financial reporting and narratives for the CFO, executive team, Board, and investors; support future financings and IPO readiness.
• Hire and develop the FP&A team with an AI-native approach to automate routine activities.
