Job summary

Recursion is seeking a Vice President, Business Development and Licensing to lead BD and licensing for our oncology and I&I portfolio. This NYC-based role will collaborate with asset leadership teams to identify licensing and co-development opportunities, conduct due diligence, and structure high-impact agreements.

You will interact with biology, chemistry, clinical development, safety, CMC, data science, legal, and finance to drive value with speed.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree strongly preferred.
• 12–15+ years in biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry, focus on oncology and I&I.
• 7+ years of direct business development and licensing experience with buy- and sell-side success.
• Strong network of senior relationships across biotech and large pharma.
• Deep knowledge of drug development from discovery to commercialization.
• Track record leading complex negotiations and high-value transactions.
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently with initiative.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and build enduring relationships with senior BD and licensing counterparts at pharma/biotech.
• Identify value-maximizing development and commercialization partners for Recursion assets.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to identify in-licensing and asset acquisition opportunities.
• Structure, negotiate, and execute licensing, acquisition, co-development, or spin-out agreements.
• Consolidate industry feedback and advise on data-package deliverables.
• Represent Recursion's platform and acquisition strategy to industry leaders.
