Job summary

JCW Group is partnering with a growing U.S. P&C carrier to hire a VP, Actuarial Reserving. You will own quarterly reserve output across 36-40 programs and collaborate with Finance, Claims, Underwriting, and Reinsurance. This hands-on role offers visibility and a clear path to expand leadership as the function grows.

Responsibilities include reserve analyses, model development, and GAAP/Statutory exhibits. Travel monthly to Charlotte is required, with remote work supported.

Qualifications

• ACAS required; near-FCAS strongly preferred.
• 8-12+ years of P&C reserving experience at a U.S. regulated carrier.
• Strong statutory and GAAP reserving expertise, including gross and net analyses.

• Quarterly reserve analyses and gross and net reserve indications across the full program portfolio.
• Reserve model development, including IBNR, development selections and ultimate loss projections.
• Statutory and GAAP reserve exhibits, Schedule P and Schedule F support, and SAO materials.
• Reserve impact of complex reinsurance and program structures: loss corridors, aggregate stop loss, quota share.
• Leading and mentoring one direct report.

You'll report to the SVP, Head of Actuarial Reserving and be the technical owner of quarterly reserve output across 36-40 active programs. You'll also work regularly with Finance, Claims, Underwriting and Reinsurance. The role has a clear path to expand your leadership scope as the function grows. It's hands-on technical work with real visibility.
