Job summary

LifeWise Academy is seeking substitute teachers who demonstrate a mature Christian faith and active church involvement. The role includes completing substitute teacher training and teaching LifeWise classes as needed, using LifeWise curriculum provided by the teacher.

Responsibilities include implementing lesson plans, maintaining a safe classroom, following discipline policies, keeping attendance records, and communicating with the lead teacher and volunteers.

• Active participation in local church whose doctrine aligns with LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith

Responsibilities

• Complete substitute teacher training
• Teach LifeWise classes on an as-needed basis
• Implement the lesson plans using the LifeWise curriculum provided by the teacher
• Maintain a safe, organized and stimulating classroom environment following LifeWise policies and procedures
• Follow the program's student discipline policy
• Maintain records including attendance and reports to the teacher
• Maintain a clean, attractive and well-ordered classroom
• Know procedures for emergency situations
• Communicate lesson plans with volunteers before class and assign duties
• Communicate with the teacher and LifeWise ambassador roles in the community

LifeWise substitute teachers will demonstrate excellence in Biblical knowledge and teaching abilities. The ideal candidate is an active church participant with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who is caring, perceptive and proficient in teaching students.
