Job summary

LifeWise Academy is seeking a responsible LifeWise CDL bus driver to transport students and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site. The role requires safe driving, adherence to safety rules, and compassionate interaction with children.

Qualifications include a valid CDL with passenger vehicle endorsement, clean driving record, and background/drug testing compliance. Active church involvement and the ability to pass a background check are essential.

Qualifications

• CDL with endorsement for driving a passenger vehicle (P) is required.
• School bus (S) endorsement is preferred.
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic citations in the last five years.
• Background check through LifeWise Academy is required.
• Annual drug and/or alcohol testing as required.
• Maintenance of medical fitness: yearly physician statement if medically required.
• Age range 21–80; CDL drivers above 75 must submit license copy annually.
• Active participation in a local church in agreement with LifeWise beliefs.

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site.
• Obey traffic laws and ensure student safety at all times.
• Maintain cleanliness and mechanical safety of the bus.
• Perform regular inspections of the bus and refuel as needed.
• Create and maintain a safe environment for children; enforce safety rules.
• Assist students entering or exiting the vehicle; stay calm and caring.
• Be aware of students needing help or who are misbehaving.
• Complete training required by LifeWise Academy.
• Volunteer in the LifeWise classroom if approved by the director.
