Job summary

Transitions Hospice is seeking a Coordinator of Volunteer Services to lead and grow our volunteer program. You will recruit, train, and support volunteers who accompany patients, families, and staff across our locations.

You will partner with clinicians, social workers, and program leaders to align volunteer activities with patient care goals, maintain volunteer records, and participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.

Qualifications

• College degree preferred; high school diploma required.
• Experience in healthcare or hospice settings preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to recruit, train, and supervise volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain volunteer training and orientation programs.
• Recruit, educate, and select volunteers through recruitment sessions per year.
• Establish volunteer service needs with patients, families, and care team.
• Supervise and evaluate volunteers in a timely, supportive manner.
• Maintain volunteer files and program statistics.
• Reevaluate and improve the volunteer program regularly.
• Coordinate regular volunteer team meetings and education sessions.
• Represent Transitions Hospice volunteer services to groups and partners.
• Assist in budget preparation for program development as needed.
• Participate in quality assessment and performance improvement teams.
