Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator for a respected non-profit based in George to recruit, train, schedule, and support volunteers, ensuring a positive experience while delivering the organization’s mission in the Western Cape.

You will build a diverse volunteer base, run orientation sessions, coordinate schedules, track hours, and liaise with program staff to place volunteers where they are needed. Excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for community service are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in volunteer management, HR, or related field preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire individuals.
• Proficiency in record-keeping and basic administrative tasks.
• Passion for community service and non-profit work.
• Experience with volunteer management software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies for recruiting volunteers from diverse backgrounds.
• Conduct orientation and training sessions for volunteers.
• Coordinate volunteer schedules based on skills and needs.
• Provide ongoing support, mentorship, and recognition to volunteers.
• Maintain accurate volunteer records and track hours and contributions.
