The Humane Society of Greater Dayton is seeking a dedicated Volunteer Program Manager to lead, train, and grow a robust volunteer network supporting animal care, community outreach, and events.

You will develop policies, track hours, recognize volunteers, and collaborate with schools, businesses, and partners to promote programs and engagements. In-person role with a strong emphasis on communications and organization.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (required).
• 3–5 years of experience in volunteer management, community outreach, or event planning.
• Experience with animal welfare organizations (preferred).
• Knowledge of animal care and handling.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.

Aufgaben

• Recruit, train, and retain a robust volunteer base to support animal care, administrative tasks, events, and other organizational needs.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for the volunteer program.
• Track volunteer hours and maintain accurate program statistics.
• Provide ongoing support, guidance, and recognition to volunteers.
• Actively promote volunteer opportunities to schools, businesses, and community groups.
• Plan, organize, and execute community outreach initiatives such as adoption events and educational programs.
• Collaborate with staff, volunteers, and external partners for smooth events.
• Work with marketing to create educational materials for diverse audiences.
• Represent the organization in public settings, including media appearances and speaking engagements.
