Job summary

Volunteer Center is seeking a proactive Volunteer Coordinator to lead recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention across all programs. You will manage volunteer engagement, relationships, and scheduling to support Food For Kids, Operation Teddy Bear, and community initiatives.

The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, experience with volunteer databases, and the ability to collaborate with multiple departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in nonprofit/volunteer management or related field.
• 2+ years in volunteer coordination, nonprofit programs, community engagement, customer service, or event planning.
• Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead recruitment, screening, onboarding, training, scheduling, and retention of volunteers across all programs.
• Develop volunteer roles, training materials, and procedures for readiness.
• Build a diverse pipeline of volunteers from various sectors.
• Coordinate staffing for key programs and events.
• Foster an outstanding volunteer experience to encourage retention.
