Job summary

HEART Response Ministry seeks a part-time Volunteer Coordinator to build and sustain a thriving volunteer community. You will recruit, onboard, and place volunteers, coordinate orientation training, and ensure roles align with ministry priorities and availability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
• Experience in volunteer management or related fields such as recruiting, ministry leadership, or community engagement.
• Valid driver's license with ability to travel locally.
• Proficient with basic office software (Word/Docs, spreadsheets, email).

Responsibilities

• Build strategic partnerships with local churches, schools, ministries, businesses, and civic organizations to create a robust volunteer pipeline.
• Represent HRM at outreach events, volunteer fairs, and community gatherings to promote service opportunities.
• Recruit volunteers to support ministry and operational needs; interview and place according to gifts, interests, and availability.
• Design and implement a standardized volunteer onboarding and orientation program.
• Coordinate scheduling, information management, and reporting using volunteer management systems; maintain records and compliance.
• Develop and document volunteer policies and procedures; ensure consistent application across activities.
• Foster a culture of recognition and support; address concerns and gather feedback to improve the volunteer experience.
• Schedule includes regular onsite work with occasional evenings and weekends; local travel for meetings and events.
