Job summary

City of O'Fallon, Missouri is seeking a Volunteer Services Coordinator to organize volunteer recruitment, placement, training, and retention. This position connects volunteers with meaningful opportunities across City departments and events, building strong community relationships.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and 2–3 years of related experience, with a Missouri driver’s license. Primary duties include coordinating programs, training volunteers, and managing partnerships

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or a combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge and skills.
• 2–3 years of related experience in volunteer coordination, community engagement, event planning, or a similar position.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Missouri driver's license for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, coordinate, train, and supervise volunteers to support City departments, programs, and special events.
• Develop and promote volunteer opportunities through presentations, digital media, print materials, and social media while ensuring ADA compliance.
• Plan and coordinate City-sponsored events and volunteer recognition activities.
• Collaborate with City staff to identify volunteer needs and develop opportunities that support departmental goals.
• Interview, screen, place, orient, and train volunteers.
• Establish and maintain relationships with schools, nonprofit organizations, civic groups, local businesses, and other community partners.
• Manage and maintain the volunteer database, ensuring accurate records and addressing system-related concerns.
