Job summary

PAWS Chicago is seeking a Volunteer Program Coordinator to oversee the Medical Center Volunteer Program, recruit volunteers, and ensure smooth daily operations. You will train, place, and manage volunteers, delivering exceptional service while maintaining engagement and morale.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of volunteer coordination experience, with strong communication skills and proficient computer use. Some travel between PAWS locations may be needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Minimum 3 years volunteer coordination or related experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to represent PAWS Chicago mission creatively.
• Strong computer skills in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; Volgistics experience a plus.
• Excellent public speaking and organizational skills.
• Willingness to travel between PAWS locations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure daily operations of the Medical Center Volunteer Program run smoothly.
• Train and onboard new volunteers and ensure protocols are followed.
• Oversee volunteer tasks and assign duties including dog walking, cleaning.
• Maintain Volgistics database; create reports and audits.
• Recruit, train, and advance volunteer programs.
• Support staff through positive volunteer engagement.
• Participate in PAWS Chicago events as needed.
