Job summary

The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank is seeking a Volunteer Operations Supervisor to oversee volunteer events, coordinate coordination across departments, and drive data-driven scheduling for scalable programs. The role emphasizes leadership, safety, and strong communication with staff and community volunteers.

Responsibilities include supervising volunteers at diverse events, maintaining schedules and databases, and producing clear, actionable communications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Prefer at least 2 years’ College-level coursework completed.
• Demonstrates ability to supervise, lead, and work well with others
• Excellent interpersonal communication with various staff
• Adapts communication styles to relay information to different stakeholders
• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Communicates accurately, honestly, supportively and in a timely manner with department and interdepartmental team members
• Proactive in identifying opportunities and solutions for compliance while maintaining a positive volunteer experience
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multitasking and self-starter mentality
• Public speaking, oral and written skills
• Professional demeanor when dealing with stakeholders and/or difficult situations
• Resourceful with good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
• Ability to work with interruptions while staying productive
• Professional appearance and demeanor; adhere to SOPs and safety rules
• Willingness to adjust hours for job needs
• Access to reliable transportation for travel within Los Angeles County
• Ability to work with diverse staff and volunteers
• Bilingual abilities preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise volunteers at on-site and off-site events; provide training and orientation
• Coordinate volunteer events, schedules, and production planning
• Maintain volunteer management database and generate reports from data
• Analyze feedback to improve volunteer experience and communicate findings
• Produce clear communications for the volunteer team (flyers, recaps, presentations)
• Collaborate with Operations and other departments to meet program needs
• Ensure ADA compliance and safety measures at all times
• Attend department meetings and support special projects as needed
