Job summary

The Salvation Army Northern Division Fargo Corps is seeking a Community Relations and Volunteer Coordinator to build relationships, lead volunteer engagement, and coordinate communications for local programs and seasonal campaigns.

You will develop community partnerships with schools, churches, and businesses, recruit and train volunteers, manage event logistics, and promote Salvation Army programs while upholding branding and mission in the Fargo community.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in communications, marketing, nonprofit management, public relations, business, human services, or a related field.
• Two years of related experience in community engagement, volunteer coordination, communications, marketing, nonprofit services, or a related field preferred.
• Experience building community partnerships and working with volunteers preferred.
• Must pass required background checks, possess a valid driver's license, and meet Motor Vehicle Record requirements.

Responsibilities

• Volunteer Leadership & Community Campaigns: Recruit, schedule, train, recognize, and support volunteers for year-round programs, seasonal initiatives, and events.
• Community Partnerships & Outreach: Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations, schools, churches, civic groups, and local businesses.
• Communications: Coordinate social media, promotional materials, event communications, and outreach messaging.
• Program & Event Support: Provide logistical and volunteer support for programs, activities, and events.
